Guidelines for Submitting Articles

We welcome submissions of articles related to the Safety of Journalists Training School and the following international conference. Please adhere to the following guidelines when submitting your work:

Topic: Articles should address issues related to the safety of journalists, including but not limited to:

  • Physical safety
  • Digital security
  • Legal protection
  • Psychosocial well-being
  • Training and capacity building
  • The role of media organizations and other stakeholders in promoting journalist safety
  • Other related issues

Originality: Submissions must be original work and not previously published elsewhere.

Length: Articles should be between 3,000 and 5,000 words.

Format:

  • Use a clear and concise writing style.
  • Include an abstract of no more than 250 words.
  • Use headings and subheadings to organize your text.
  • Cite sources using a consistent citation style (Preferable style: APA).

Submission: Submit your article as a Word document (.doc or .docx) to the ICSJ contact email.

Deadline: The deadline for submissions is 15 April 2025.

Review Process: All submissions will be peer-reviewed by experts in the field. Authors will be notified of the outcome of the review process.

 

Selection Criteria:

Articles will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Relevance to the theme of journalist safety
  • Originality and contribution to the field
  • Clarity and quality of writing
  • Strength of argument and evidence
  • Adherence to the guidelines
